About This Site

PetExplained exists to help ordinary dog and cat owners find clear, practical answers to the questions they actually search for — why their pet is doing something, whether a food is safe, or what to prepare before bringing home a puppy or kitten.

This is a small, independent content project, not a veterinary practice and not a large media organization. We are not veterinarians, and nothing on this site is written or reviewed by one unless an article explicitly names a reviewer and their credentials. Where no reviewer is named, the article is compiled and edited by the site’s writers directly from the named sources listed at the bottom of each page — primarily veterinary schools, veterinary and animal-welfare organizations, and, where relevant, peer-reviewed research.
